The Steam Pre-release FAQ and Launch Scale Test notes answer the questions players actually ask before 5 October 2026: whether original AION is required, which languages and servers ship globally, whether the global client is on mobile, how complete controller support is, whether LST progress carries, and when Founder's Pack access starts. Korea/Taiwan live clients remain a separate PURPLE plus mobile path. Answers below keep that fork visible. Steam app 3393110 is the global Windows client; playtest 4972320 and PURPLE mobile stores are not that client.
Global Steam FAQ
The Steam Pre-release FAQ and LST bulletin are the live answers for the 5 October Windows launch: eight languages, four server regions, PC only, controller still in evaluation, LST wipe, pack access on 30 September. help.plaync.com/faq/aion2global returned a thin shell, so the Steam post is the document this page follows.
Korea/Taiwan live client
Korea and Taiwan launched 19 November 2025 at midnight on PURPLE with PC and mobile clients. App Store Korea and Google Play still list that live product. Nine classes appear in KR store copy. That client is not the Steam global FAQ’s subject. Keep PURPLE installs and Steam 3393110 separate.
Steam, PURPLE, and the playtest app
Global path is Steam app 3393110 plus PURPLE as a launcher NC also uses for LST. Korea/Taiwan live uses PURPLE with App Store and Google Play clients. LST used Playtest app 4972320; Steam players must uninstall that app before Advanced Access. Mixing those three installs is the usual way to brick a pre-download. Taiwan’s live download page states about 70 GB through PURPLE. Steam PC requirements list 100 GB for the global Windows build. Minimum CPU is Ryzen 5 2600 or Core i5-10500 with 8 GB RAM and a GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB; recommended is RTX 2070 class, 16 GB, and an SSD.

Do not mix KR live facts into the Steam FAQ
The ninth class, 4-player and 8-player dungeons, Easy Mode, Chaotic Abyss, and mobile clients are Korea/Taiwan live-build facts. The Steam FAQ does not promote them as global launch features. Use the version buttons above this section when a sentence might describe either product. If a friend is already on PURPLE, their dungeon size and class count can disagree with yours on 5 October without either of you being wrong. Keep PURPLE and Steam in separate folders; the FAQ does not describe a character transfer.
Controller evaluation, LST wipe, and PC-only are global Steam facts. They do not become mobile-friendly because the KR client has a phone build. They do not become persistence because a KR character already exists. The 5 October Steam product is a new global launch with Founder's Pack access five days earlier, not a copy of your PURPLE bag. Keep PURPLE and Steam in separate folders; the FAQ does not describe a character transfer between those clients on 5 October.
Audio, age gate, and Discord
Steam marks English, Japanese, and Korean with full audio. The other five global UI languages are text. Steam required_age is 13, with General Mature Content and Gore descriptors. Official Discord is discord.gg/aion2official, named in Steam news. None of those facts replace the PC-only rule or the LST wipe. They sit beside the FAQ answers so you can set volume, parental gates, and a Discord invite before Advanced Access.
There is no achievement roster on app 3393110 yet. Do not plan a launch-week achievement hunt from the Steam store. If NC later fills the help center, the Steam post still wins until those answers are reprinted on the news hub. Frequently asked questions
▴Do I need to know original AION?
No. The Steam Pre-release FAQ says you can jump into AION 2 with no prior knowledge of AION’s world or story. The sequel is set 200 years after the Tower of Eternity fell, so returning players will still meet new ground in Verteron and Altgard. Story recaps are not required to create a Daeva, pick a class, or fly. If you want the old geography, treat Poeta and Ishalgen as burned names on the Dragon Lord teaser rather than as playable Steam starters.
▴Which languages ship globally?
English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Japanese, and Korean. Steam marks English, Japanese, and Korean with full audio. That list is the global client, not this wiki’s 14 interface languages. Ukrainian, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Polish, and Turkish are not in the Steam in-game language field. If your OS language is missing from the eight, expect English or another listed UI at launch.
▴Where are global servers?
North America, South America, Europe, and Japan, per the Steam FAQ and the April 2026 announcement. Korea and Taiwan already launched on PURPLE on 19 November 2025 and are not those four global regions. Character transfer between the live PURPLE client and the Steam global client is not described in the FAQ. Pick the Steam region that matches the four named continents unless you are staying on the KR/TW live client.
▴Is global AION 2 on mobile?
No. The Steam FAQ states the global version is being developed exclusively for PC. Steam platforms.windows is true; mac and linux are false. Korea/Taiwan live clients remain PC-and-mobile on PURPLE, with App Store id 1470173983 and Google Play package com.ncsoft.aion2. Do not install those mobile clients expecting them to log into the Steam global servers on 5 October. The global path is app 3393110 on Windows.
▴Is there full controller support?
The game is playable with a controller, but NC is still evaluating whether full controller support is in scope for launch. That is the FAQ’s own hedge, not a community rumor. If you need a complete glyph set, remappable radial, or console certification, wait for a later note. Keyboard and mouse remain the documented PC baseline. LST and Advanced Access are the windows to test whatever controller map ships in those builds.
▴Does Launch Scale Test progress carry to launch?
No. Day 1 carries to Day 2 only. Everything wipes after Day 2. Nothing transfers to Advanced Access or the 5 October launch. Max level in the test is 37. Shop, Quna, passes, memberships, marketplace, Quna exchange, and player trading stay off for the test. LST ran 17–18 September 2026, open to everyone, six hours per day. Treat it as a feel-the-combat event, not a head start.
▴When does Founder's Pack access start?
Advanced Access starts 30 September 2026, five days before the 5 October 2026 free launch. Steam playtest users must uninstall Playtest app 4972320 first. Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate all share that five-day window; Deluxe and Ultimate add skins rather than extra days. Buy the SKU on Steam package 1675062, 1675064, or 1675065. ▴What is Quna and membership for?
Quna is the paid currency named in LST restrictions. Special Quai Membership (30 days in every Founder's Pack) unlocks remote storage, personal trading, Wind Breeze Merchants, Market, Quna Exchange, and extra Odyle Energy Cube picks. During LST those systems stayed off, so you could not practice the cash shop. On live, membership is the switch for trading and extra Odyle picks. Numeric bonuses beyond that named list are not in the global notes.
